BSW teaching responsibilities span the undergraduate curriculum, including direct practice, policy, human behavior, and practicum education. MSW teaching responsibilities are within the Advanced Generalist curriculum, an immersive program in which every course addresses theory and practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels in urban and rural settings, and which requires students and faculty to engage in learning outside the classroom. Faculty members are also responsible for student advising, scholarship, and service.

  • Participation in department, program, and administrative meetings, and occasional travel for professional or community engagement, may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program and licensure (or eligibility for licensure) through the State of Michigan as an LMSW.

  • Doctorate in social work or related field or at least 15 hours of credits completed toward a doctorate degree in social work or a related field.
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Teaching experience in social work practice, policy, and human behavior, and an established research agenda.
  • Five years of direct practice experience at the MSW level is highly desirable.
