The Speech-Language Pathology program in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Lewis University invites applications for Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology. Candidates must hold an earned doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) or related area (Ph.D.

or Ed.D) from an accredited institution. They must demonstrate a significant record of university teaching experience, clinical expertise and a line of scholarly work within the CSD disciplines.

Qualifications

• Earned doctoral degree in CSD or related area.
• Significant university teaching experience.
• Clinical education experience with SLP graduate students.
• CCC-SLP certification and Illinois licensure eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Developing and teaching didactic academic courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses.
• Developing and executing a line of scholarly research that results in dissemination of knowledge.
• Participating in the clinical education of SLP students, including mentorship of student scholarly projects, clinical practicum and/or community outreach projects.
• Completing service to the program, college, university and our profession.
• Recording student assessment data to document their achievement at midterm and end of each semester.
• Participation in departmental meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other meetings or events, as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the administrators of the SLP program.Modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, and respectful collaboration.
• Fostering an educational environment supportive of the Lasallian Mission.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related area, experience in providing clinical education to SLP graduate students, and at least 10 years of full-time experience as a licensed, certified speech-language pathologist. Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC - SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and must hold or be eligible for the Illinois state speech-language pathology license.
