Job summary

Job description

The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice position in Criminal Justice, starting in Fall 2027. This position is a Fixed-Term Rolling Contract (FTRC) with a primary focus on teaching and internship coordination. A FTRC is a non-tenure-track position, which following the successful completion of the probationary period, provides a three-year rolling contract renewed annually upon successful completion of an annual evaluation. In addition to a 9-month contract, this position also includes a separate, additional appointment for managing internships during the summer semester.

Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field, AND a minimum of 5 years of non- academic work experience in criminal justice or related field.

OR

PhD degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Juris Doctorate (JD), or a related field, AND a minimum of 3 years of non- academic work experience in criminal justice or related field.

AND

Demonstrated teaching experience in Criminal Justice (or related field) at the college and/or university level (Experience as a teaching assistant at the college or university level meets this qualification).
