Job description

Department of History & Classics at Providence College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in post-1945 United States history beginning in the fall of 2027. Given our existing strengths in African American, urban, and labor history, we especially welcome applications from candidates who will expand our department's offerings with specializations in gender history, public history, history of science & technology, and/or environmental history. We also welcome applications from candidates with an interest in digital humanities.

Salary for this position is between $69,000-$79,000.

Competence to teach in the Development of Western Civilization program, as part of the regular 3-3 teaching load, is required. Experience in interdisciplinary and/or team teaching is desirable.
