Lamar University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biology. The appointee will establish a vigorous, externally funded research program, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and teach across the biology curriculum with emphasis on Animal Physiology related courses.

The successful candidate will involve undergraduate and graduate students in research, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in department, college, and university

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or related field required.
• Establish a vigorous, externally funded research program.
• Teach Anatomy and Physiology and upper-level Physiology courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach Biology courses as assigned and develop course materials.
• Maintain an active research program with publications and external funding.
• Supervise and mentor students in research.
• Participate in department, college and university service and recruitment activities.
