Job Description:

The Department of Philosophy at Mount HolyokeCollege invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track positionto begin July 1, 2027. The teaching load is four courses per year.The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strongteaching at the undergraduate level and experience mentoringstudents who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity,socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation,disability, and religion. A Ph.D. or ABD is required.

The area of specialization is open. The candidate must be able toteach symbolic logic. We are particularly interested in candidateswho can teach advanced undergraduate courses in logic and/or otherformal methods in philosophy. The ability to teach courses in thehistory of philosophy is also an asset.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, CV, writingsample, evidence of teaching effectiveness (including syllabi andcomplete teaching evaluations from recent courses), a statementabout teaching philosophy, a statement of research interests, and a statement about mentoring a diverse student body.
