Job description

The Department of Pharmacology at Yale University School of Medicine invites applications for Assistant Professor in the Traditional Track. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education. Areas of focus in this search will be chemical biology, computational biology (structural/chemical or systems focused), neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, metabolism, and pharmacology associated with infectious diseases, nucleic acids, and glycobiology.

Responsibilities include establishing a vigorous and independently funded research program while supervising and mentoring students with broad backgrounds plus contributing to the graduate and medical school educational missions. We seek individuals with strong records of creative accomplishments, who are also keen to interact productively with colleagues within the Department of Pharmacology, across Yale School of Medicine and at Yale more generally.

Pharmacology at Yale University has a very rich history of pre-eminence in drug discovery, with the first cancer chemotherapy clinical trials having been conducted here. Today, the research in our Department encompasses a wide range of fields, with researchers aiming to both understand and treat human disease, with strengths in drug discovery, integrative cell signaling, structural biology, and neuroscience.
