Job description

The Austin College Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Kinesiology beginning in August of 2027.

The Kinesiology Department is seeking an energetic and collaborative Assistant Professor who holds a doctorate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D. or equivalent) in kinesiology, public health, rehabilitation science, health sciences, or a related and complementary field.

We seek a colleague who can contribute to teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses within the Kinesiology program, to include foundational courses as well as specialty courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise. We are especially interested in candidates whose specialty courses can also support the Public Health program at Austin College. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment and an interest in mentoring students with diverse academic and career goals, including those pursuing graduate study and health-related professions.
