Description

The Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science at Springfield College invites applications for a one-year full-time Assistant Professor of Computer Science. This is an exciting time to join the MPCS department. MPCS seeks dynamic individuals dedicated to teaching, with a strong interest in curriculum development, and a highly collaborative and creative environment.

MPCS offers majors in Computer and Information Sciences, interdisciplinary majors in Computer Science, Criminal Justice, and English, as well as minors in computer science, programming, web design, and animation. The department is interested in growth areas such as data science, AI, and machine learning, and welcomes applicants from any computer science discipline, with a focus on AI, machine learning, or data and computational science preferred.

Springfield College faculty are expected to excel in instruction, scholarship, and service, embracing the 'Humanics' approach—enriching students through Spirit, Mind, and Body. The successful candidate will teach 12 credits per semester, contribute to scholarship, and involve undergraduates in their research.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• College-level teaching experience and an active research agenda or potential preferred.
