We are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching students from a wide variety of backgrounds .Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment. Within the broad field of classical philology, the area of specialization is open, but we are especially interested in someone with research and teaching interests that will bolster our course offerings and contribute to the department’s teaching of literary analysis both for majors and non-majors. After an initial review of applications, for select candidates, the search committee will request three letters of recommendation, including one that specifically addresses teaching experience; if requested, these should be submitted by referees by December 1. Online interviews in December will be scheduled for these candidates and finalists will be invited to visit campus in January 2027.Carleton is committed to developing its faculty to better reflect the diversity of our students and American society.
