The Department of Medical Education and Scholarship at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an Assistant Professor to teach physiology and/or biochemistry, facilitate in-person PBL groups, and deliver large lectures. Based at Stratford or Sewell campuses with occasional travel, the appointee will contribute to exams, case writing, and faculty development.

They will participate in pre-clerkship curriculum delivery, engage in committee work, and support student success initiatives

Formación

• Terminal degree (PhD, DO, or MD) with expertise in physiology and/or biochemistry. For physician applicants, clinical duties and/or teaching in the simulation center may be required.
• At least 3 years experience teaching medical students and small group facilitation, specifically PBL experience, is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate weekly PBL small group sessions and/or large group lectures.
• Answer students’ questions in content areas of expertise.
• Complete mid-block formative and end-of-block summative evaluations using the specified templates.
• Contribute to case review, case-writing, exam item writing, faculty development, and medical education research.
• Participate in PBL training and ongoing faculty development.
• Collaborate with Center for Student Success and Office of Faculty Development to support learning.
• Know curriculum policies for pre-clerkship delivery and participate in committees as assigned.
• Schedule vacations to align with student time off and arrange substitutes when needed.
