Qualifications

• Formal degree in the cited discipline area to ensure foundational knowledge.
• Experience in scholarly productivity in basic, translational, or clinical research.
• Experience obtaining external research funding and teaching/mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent basic and translational research program focused on genomic epidemiology and pathogen evolution.
• Collaborate as part of multi-investigator research initiatives.
• Seek and secure extramural funding from federal and non-federal sources.
• Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Participate in institutional committees supporting research and teaching missions.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations that advance translational goals.
• Contribute to training and education of graduate/doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.
