Position Description

The Department of Psychology at Texas State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. Expertise in aging is preferred (although all specializations in clinical psychology will be considered). The successful Assistant Professor candidate will be expected to:

• Develop and maintain an active research program that incorporates both undergraduate and graduate students;
• Teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses relevant to clinical psychology;
• Supervise graduate theses/dissertations;
• Actively seek and maintain external funding;
• Have or obtain licensure to practice clinical psychology in the state of Texas and maintain licensure;
• Participate in service as a good departmental citizen.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Clinical Psychology at the time of appointment.
• Scholarship productivity and record of scholarly publications (evaluated in relation to time since completion of the doctoral degree).
• Evidence of, or potential for, incorporating students into the research program.
• Licensed or license eligible in the state of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialization in aging (although all specializations incl. clinical psychology will be considered).
• Evidence of, or potential for, securing external research funding.
• Quality collegiate teaching experience.
