Position Summary

The Department of Art + Design at Austin Peay State University ( APSU ) is seeking applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Graphic Design to begin in August 2024. The APSU Department of Art + Design is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and offers BFA and BA degrees in Graphic Design, with concentrations in Studio Art, Animation and Visual Effects, Art History, and Art Education. The department consists of sixteen full-time faculty, three full-time staff, and fifteen part-time instructors who celebrate the mission of teaching and innovation in serving 300+ undergraduate majors. In Fall of 2017 the Department moved into a new $21.3 million-dollar, 46,000 square feet Art + Design Building, featuring custom studio space for all the concentrations. Austin Peay State University is located in the city of Clarksville, TN-less than an hour north of Nashville, which was named the #1 Best Place to Live in 2019 by Money Magazine. We invite a third faculty member to become a collaborator on our graphic design team, and to advance the program. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
