Job summary

Hamilton College's Environmental Studies Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor focused on food systems, beginning July 1, 2027. We seek an interdisciplinary environmental social scientist and/or humanist whose work engages urban agriculture, food justice, Indigenous foodways, or agroecology, to teach core and elective courses and contribute to advising.

Candidates with ABD considered; Ph.D. preferred.

Qualifications

• Interdisciplinary background in environmental social sciences or humanities.
• Experience teaching or working with diverse student populations.
• ABD considered; Ph.D. preferred.
• Ability to teach core curriculum and electives and advise undergraduates.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses in the first year; five courses thereafter.
• Contribute to core curriculum and electives in Environmental Studies.
• Provide undergraduate academic advising.
• Engage in service and contribute to diversity and equity goals.
