Job summary

Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focused on food systems. The successful candidate will teach an intermediate course contributing to the core curriculum and electives in Environmental Studies, and participate in the Senior Program and introductory course offerings.

We seek interdisciplinary scholars in environmental social science and/or humanities with work on food studies, urban agriculture, food justice, Indigenous foodways, or agroecology.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. preferred in environmental studies, environmental social science, or related humanities fields.
• Experience teaching diverse student populations and contributing to core curriculum.
• Ability to teach food studies with focus on food systems, urban agriculture, or agroecology.

Responsibilities

• Teach an intermediate course contributing to the core curriculum and electives.
• Contribute to Senior Program and introductory environmental studies course.
• Advise undergraduate students after the first year and participate in service.

Education
