Job summary

Langston University Sherman Lewis School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor of Food Innovation and Nutritional Sciences. The ideal candidate will build a high-impact research program, lead product innovation efforts with locally produced items, and engage stakeholders through Extension while delivering teaching excellence.

The role includes a 50% research, 30% extension, 20% teaching split (adjustable).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Food Science, Human Nutrition, Nutritional Biology, or a closely related field (degree must be conferred on or before start date).
• Evidence of a strong scholarly record.
• Demonstrated potential to secure external funding (grants/contracts) to support research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Research: Develop a nationally recognized research program focused on food innovations, nutrition, and related interactions.
• Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in food science/nutrition and mentor students.
• Extension and Service: Engage with stakeholders across Oklahoma and beyond and participate in university service.
