  • Participate in curriculum development, student-learning assessment, program review, accreditation activities, faculty governance, committee service, and other initiatives.
  • Maintain an appropriate record of scholarship, professional development, and service consistent with University expectations for faculty evaluation, promotion, and tenure.

Job description

Regent University’s School of Business & Leadership invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance. This position is based at Regent University’s campus in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and requires a regular on-campus presence.


Work Location: Virginia Beach, VA


Salary: $120,000–$125,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Essential Duties:


  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance and related business disciplines in on-campus and online formats.

  • Develop and maintain high-quality courses and learning experiences that reflect current disciplinary standards, professional practices, appropriate instructional technologies, and the meaningful integration of Christian faith and learning.

  • Advise and mentor students, maintain appropriate office hours, support students’ academic and professional development, and contribute to student recruitment, retention, and degree completion.

  • Participate in curriculum development, student-learning assessment, program review, accreditation activities, faculty governance, committee service, and other School and University initiatives.

  • Maintain an appropriate record of scholarship, professional development, and service consistent with University expectations for faculty evaluation, promotion, and tenure.


Qualifications:


  • An earned terminal doctoral degree in Finance or a closely related business discipline from an appropriately accredited institution is required for appointment to a tenure-track position.

  • Candidates nearing completion of an appropriate terminal degree may be considered, provided the degree will be completed within a timeframe acceptable to the University.

  • Candidates whose terminal degree is in a related field must possess sufficient graduate-level academic preparation in Finance to meet University and applicable accreditation requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach Finance effectively in both on-campus and online learning environments.

  • Evidence of, or demonstrated potential for, academic scholarship, professional engagement, student mentoring, institutional service, and contributions to curriculum development and assessment.

  • Relevant professional experience in corporate finance, financial management, investments, banking, financial analysis, or a related area is preferred.

  • Professional credentials such as CFA, CFP, CMA, CPA, or another relevant designation are desirable.


Candidates Must Have:


  • Strong subject-matter expertise in Finance and the ability to teach courses across the undergraduate Finance curriculum.

  • Excellent teaching, communication, interpersonal, and student-mentoring skills.

  • Proficiency with instructional technologies and the ability to engage students effectively in on-campus and online learning environments.

  • A collaborative approach to curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, faculty governance, and institutional service.

  • Strong organizational skills, sound professional judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage teaching, scholarship, advising, and service responsibilities effectively.

  • Dedication to Christ-centered teaching and learning and to the integration of Christian faith with teaching, scholarship, and service.
