Qualifications

• Ph.D./Ed.D. required; ABD considered with clear path to degree completion
• Teaching credential or equivalent expertise in early childhood education
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and educational equity
• Evidence or potential for meaningful scholarly activity
• Currency in child development theory and practice
• Direct work experience with birth to eight age range
• Ability to plan and carry out a research agenda
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural higher education environment
• Excellent oral, written, and digital communication skills

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in person and online across the ECS major, minor, graduate program, and PK-3 ECE credential
• Supervise PK-3 credential candidates in elementary and preschools across Sonoma County
• Engage in scholarly activities: research, conferences, and publications
• Advise students in PK-3 credential, ECS major/minor/graduate programs
• Participate in department, school, and university committees and program assessment
• Lead program assessment and evaluation initiatives
• Engage with the broader Child Development and Early Care community
• Maintain currency in the field
