  • Commitment to excellence in teaching a diverse undergraduate student population, including first‑generation, low‑socioeconomic and historically minoritized students.
  • Ability to teach Race, Inequality and the Criminal Justice System and/or Gangs and the Criminal Justice System.
  • Potential for curricular growth/development of the criminal justice major.
  • Research agenda advancing criminal and social justice in race/inequality and/or gangs.
  • Strong record or potential for scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the appointment level.
  • Evidence of service to the university and the discipline.
  • Experience working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Ability to balance teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses on Race, Inequality and the Criminal Justice System and/or Gangs and the Criminal Justice System, and develop additional related courses as needed.
  • Produce scholarship commensurate with tenure requirements in the area of race/inequality and/or gangs.
  • Engage in student advising, mentorship, and service at the department, college, and university level.
  • Participate in departmental and university‑wide committees and contribute to the broader disciplinary community.
