Assistant Professor, Clinician Educator, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and/or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and be board certified or board eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, including formal lecture opportunities within the department.
  • Performing developmental and behavioral assessments and providing follow-up care in an outpatient setting, including pharmacologic treatment and brief behavioral interventions.
  • Developing collaborative and independent research programs related to developmental or behavioral aspects of pediatric care, genetic or other etiologies, or health services delivery.
  • Supervising postdoctoral fellows, residents, students, and research staff; coordinating NIH‑funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators; writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.
Qualifications
  • Board certified or board eligible in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
  • Strong teaching record with experience in medical student, resident, and fellow education.
  • Research record with a strong track record in developmental or behavioral pediatrics, neurodevelopmental disabilities, genetics, or health services research.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
