Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking an open Assistant Professor in Clinical Laboratory Sciences to teach upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to NAACLS-accredited CLS programs. The department supports DCLS and BS CLS tracks and seeks candidates who will advance clinical laboratory science education.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a CLS appropriate discipline.
• MLS(ASCP) certification (other clinical laboratory certification credentials may substitute).
• Experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Teach upper division undergraduate and graduate courses in clinical laboratory science.
• Coordinate and evaluate clinical/applied learning experience placements to ensure achievement of program goals and competencies.
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of program curriculum, policy, procedures, and outcomes as appropriate to maintain accreditation of degree programs.
• Participate in student advising and mentoring, and assessment of student achievement and progress.
• Serve on departmental, School of Health Professions, and University committees.
• Conduct and communicate scholarly activity relevant to the department and the profession and promote scholarly activity by clinical laboratory science students.
