Position Description

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invitesapplications for tenure-track positions at the rank ofAssistant Professor or Associate Professor to beginAugust 2027 . We seek outstanding teacher-scholars dedicated to excellence in thechemical and biochemical sciences. The department is an AmericanChemical Society ( ACS ) approved program, which has a strong,proven reputation for educating and training women of Africandescent to excel in STEM fields. The successful candidate will havea doctorate in chemistry or a related area and be able to teachcourses at the undergraduate level in at least one or more of thetraditional sub-disciplinary areas of chemistry in Analytical,Biochemistry, or Organic Chemistry. The teaching load is 3/3. Theposition also requires contributing effectively to curriculumdevelopment efforts, advising and mentoring students, providingservice to the department and college, and establishing acompetitive and highly productive undergraduate research program.The research can be in one of the fields mentioned previously or aninterdisciplinary field involving the area such as bioanalyticalchemistry. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to workingwith women and underrepresented minority students through teaching,mentoring, and research are especially encouraged to apply. Allcourses are taught in-person.
