Job description

Summary

The Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing Program seeks an Assistant Professor of Nursing for the Pre‑Licensure Program. The primary responsibilities include serving as Clinical Faculty Liaison (CFL) with a full administrative release, committee work, and service to the department, college, and community‑at‑large. The CFL acts as the primary point of contact with clinical faculty and agencies, oversees student learning experiences at clinical sites, and ensures alignment between curriculum and practice standards.

Essential Functions
  • Clinical site development and management
    • Evaluate clinical sites to meet student learning objectives.
    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor clinical experiences and address concerns.
  • Clinical supervision and evaluation
    • Oversee student clinical experiences, providing guidance, feedback, and support during rotations.
    • Review student performance evaluations against clinical competencies and provide constructive feedback to students and clinical faculty.
  • Communication and collaboration
    • Act as a liaison between didactic, lab, and clinical nursing program faculty, clinical site staff, the clinical placement team, and School of Nursing leadership.
    • Communicate changes in program curriculum or clinical site policies to relevant parties effectively.
    • Maintain open communication with students regarding their clinical experiences and challenges.
  • Quality assurance and improvement
    • Identify areas for improvement within clinical placements and work with clinical partners to implement changes.
    • Collect and analyze data on student clinical performance to inform program evaluation and curriculum development.
    • Develop and maintain shared workflows and record‑keeping between Pre‑Licensure faculty, clinical placement team, and School of Nursing administration.
    • Ensure compliance with accrediting standards and licensure requirements.
  • Participate in curriculum and/or course development.
  • Maintain active licensure and certification in nursing and advanced practice specialty as appropriate.
  • Participate in shared governance through committee work and attendance at Faculty, School of Nursing, and college‑wide meetings.
  • Contribute to the annual budget development process in the School of Nursing.
  • Engage in service to Regis College per Faculty Handbook guidelines, including SON and college‑wide committees.
Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Clinical faculty
    • Recruit clinical faculty as needed, in collaboration with the clinical placement team.
    • Orient clinical faculty upon hire.
    • Perform annual evaluations for clinical faculty.
    • Foster community and transparency by hosting virtual or in‑person meetings at least twice per semester.
Requirements
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license with the ability to practice in the state.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in clinical practice across diverse healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills and experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods.
  • Frequent interruptions to assist staff and faculty.
  • Access to a strong internet connection at home and working knowledge of computer technologies.
Compensation

$68,129 - $73,129 annually.
