The University of Utah’s Department of Writing & Rhetoric Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position focusing on generative AI and emerging technologies. Candidates should demonstrate scholarly work intersecting AI with writing, ethics, pedagogy, and research, with capacity for program administration and teaching across undergraduate and graduate levels.

Responsibilities include teaching two courses per semester and potential administrative release time;

Qualifications

• PhD in rhetoric and composition or closely related field by July 1, 2027.
• Ability to conduct and publish high-quality scholarship in writing, rhetoric, and literacy studies.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Commitment to enhancing access to higher education for historically underrepresented students.

Responsabilités

• Teach two courses per semester with potential release time for admin roles.
• Contribute to department programs and initiatives in AI literacies and emerging technologies.
• Engage in research and publication in rhetoric, composition, and literacy studies.
