The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton HallUniversity invites applications for a full-time, tenure-trackAssistant Professor position in Data Science, beginning in August2027. The position will be housed in the Mathematics & ComputerScience department at Seton Hall University.

Duties and Responsibilities

Priority will be given to applicants with research in areas of DataScience, broadly construed. Responsibilities will include teachingcomputer science courses at all undergraduate levels and, dependingon the candidate's expertise, undergraduate and graduate courses inData Science and Engineering, including service courses. Additionalresponsibilities include supervising student research, advising,recruitment, and active publication and grantsmanship in thefield.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science,or a closely related field is required and must be completed by thestart date of employment. The candidate's Ph.D. must be completedby the start of employment.

Desired Qualifications

We welcome applicants from all areas of data science, withparticular interest in Machine Learning. The successful candidatewill demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching,scholarly research, and the mentorship of undergraduate andgraduate students through research experiences.
