Job Summary:
The Assistant Supervisor will effectively lead, coordinate, and direct all tasks associated with running food manufacturing production line(s). Work is to be consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Verify all raw materials at production line(s) for accuracy and condition. Ensure materials and packaging include verification of quantity, locator tickets, and lot codes. Accuracy of information is critical.
- Perform and document material inventory at the production line.
- Perform head count and document all employees at the production line.
- Request materials for the following shift; materials need to be requested a minimum of 2 hours in advance.
- Attend daily shift DDS/Handover meetings to communicate relevant information with incoming shift personnel.
- Notify shift Supervisor immediately when any issues are identified with Safety, Materials, Equipment, or People.
- Maintain cleanliness of lines at all times.
- Ensure employee safety at the line; report any unsafe conditions to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain assigned reports; ensure accuracy of all paperwork.
- Monitor the performance of the line to meet standards while maintaining quality. Train all employees on tasks as needed.
- Enforce company rules regarding safety, GMP, SQF, discipline, cooperation, and teamwork.
- Attend selected meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Assist the Supervisor in maintaining facility goals.
- Work with the Supervisor to identify root causes and corrective actions regarding QC holds and rework.
Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Average math skills and proven ability to perform tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret company documents.
- Effective communication skills with all levels.
- Ability to learn and use ERP system.
Working Conditions:
- Office setting and warehouse/production environment with temperatures ranging from 55 to 80 degrees.
Physical Requirements:
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Operate industrial and company-specific equipment.
- Frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds; occasionally objects over 100 pounds.
- Stand, walk, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as required.
