Job summary

Dutch Valley in Myerstown, PA is seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to support production management by teaching interpersonal, organizational and technical skills to production employees. You will implement operational best practices and continuous improvement techniques to ensure SQF compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor/Team Leader in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GMP and SQF standards.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform root-cause analysis.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and leads work groups to meet production schedules
• Responsible for food safety
• Maintains safe working conditions, follows safe work practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Collaborates with leadership team to identify training needs; articulates problem-solving actions and goals
• Trains, develop, instruct and motivate employees to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
• Provides one-to-one mentoring support to production employees
• Provides mechanical support, including troubleshooting equipment and repair, using root cause analysis
• Analyzes production methods and processes; provides feedback to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve quality
• Understands all applicable company policies, standards and procedures; communicates to all employees in area of responsibility to ensure compliance
• Other duties as assigned include serving as a backup for critical job functions that ensure compliance with SQF,
• In the occasion(s) when key personnel responsible for designated role is absent, someone of appropriate authority and experience has been assigned to cover their nominated duties to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.

QualificationsRequired Knowledge and Skills:

• Possess basic knowledge of electricity, pneumatics and mechanics(recognize tripped breaker, open fuse, change belts, replace broken or leaking valve, etc.)
• Must be self-motivated
• Must possess exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Must possess excellent communication skillsand have an attention to detail
• Must be punctual and dependable
• Sanitation must be a high priority
• Ability to stand on feet for entire shift
• Must be available to work multiple shifts
• Safety Sensitive Position.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as aSupervisor/Team Leader, preferably in amanufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
