Job summary

Magna International in Liberty, Missouri is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to oversee a production shift, ensure on-time, quality output, and drive continuous improvement. You will supervise Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and production staff while aligning with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

The role emphasizes decision-making, data-driven actions, safety adherence, and employee development across shifts.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent; higher degree a plus.
• Degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise production employees on one complete shift.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; conduct performance reviews.
• Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement; enforce rules.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and Management.
• Develop standard work instructions for production operations; audit adherence.
• Respond to customer complaints/requests in a timely manner.
• Support succession planning and employee development.
