Job summary

PACCAR Inc. is seeking a Production Improvement Manager in Renton, WA to drive improvements across Safety, Quality, Production and Material activities. You will lead defect elimination and sustain changes through data-driven methods and standard work instructions.

Key duties include planning production with the Production Manager, mentoring teams, and supporting the PACCAR Production System through 5S and Kaizen events. Requires 4+ years in manufacturing and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in Six Sigma tools.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to train others on improvement concepts.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Manager in planning production activities and serving as a first line manager to Production Leads.
• Provide coverage for the Production Manager role.
• Support training, motivation and safety of High Performance Work Team members.
• Investigate and implement improvements to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Supply Chain.
• Develop standard work instructions and training to sustain improvements.
• Support PACCAR Production System through lean leadership, 5S and Kaizen.
• Collaborate with other functions as directed by the Production Manager.
• Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift.

Requisition Summary

This position is responsible for process improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, Production, and Material activities at the plant. This individual drives the identification and elimination of defects in the plant and field by making sustainable improvements through data mining and coordination of activities.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Assist Production Manager in planning production activities and serving as a first line manager to Production Leads.
• Provide coverage for the Production Manager role.
• Support the training, motivation and safety of High Performance Work Team members.
• Investigate, propose, and implement improvements to processes that help change Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Supply Chain performance.
• Ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained through development of standard work instructions, desk procedures, and training.
• Support the PACCAR Production System by participating in lean leadership, 5S, Kaizen events and process audits.
• Effectively support other functions as directed by the Production Manager.
• Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience required, experience in Manufacturing preferred.
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies, training and experience in use of Six Sigma tools a plus.
• Strong communication, customer service, documentation, organization and analytical skills.
• Ability to train others on improvement concepts.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and get results.
• Proficient in using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated understanding of production systems.
• Must be a team player and able to multi-task.

The salary range for this position is $80,800 - $111,200 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
