Jetro Restaurant Depot is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to support the produce department and uphold company standards. You will help supervise staff, ensure product freshness, and maintain accurate inventory while driving sales and customer satisfaction.

The role involves merchandising, receiving support, and maintaining a clean, compliant department in a fast-paced environment. Prior produce or retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through stock control and rotation.
• Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed per company standards and food safety.
• Monitor product quality and freshness and remove unsellable items promptly.
• Supervise and support department staff to follow procedures and standards.
• Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays for an organized department.
• Support receiving by verifying incoming product quality and accuracy.
• Maintain department cleanliness and compliance with policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotation
• Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
• Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards
• Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays to maintain an organized and appealing department
• Support receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracy
• Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies and regulations

Qualifications

• Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
• Strong understanding of product handling, rotation, and stock management
• Ability to identify product quality issues and maintain freshness standards
• Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership or supervisory support role
• Familiarity with perishable inventory and food safety standards
• Background in high-volume retail or wholesale environments

Work Environment / Expectations

Primarily warehouse or retail environment with temperature-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and handling products for extended periods. May require schedule flexibility based on department needs.
