Job summary

Deep Roots Charter School in Philadelphia, PA seeks an Assistant Principal of Instruction to drive high-quality teaching and learning across grades 2–6. You will lead curriculum, coach teachers, and analyze data to close opportunity gaps while fostering a joyful, equitable school culture.

The role reports to the School Leader and focuses on supporting instructional growth, MTSS alignment, and professional development to sustain strong student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading instructional improvement in an urban or charter school setting.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional best practices, assessment, and data-driven decision-making.
• Proven ability to coach and develop teachers across experience levels.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills with a focus on continuous instructional improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership and coaching across grade levels and content areas.
• Supervise and coach teachers through observations, feedback, and coaching plans.
• Lead job-embedded professional development aligned to school-wide priorities.
• Support teachers in developing rigorous, culturally responsive lesson plans.
