Responsibilities

Job description

Under the supervision of the School Principal, the HighSchool Assistant Principal will provide strong, consistent leadership to theEducation Department at the Brewster campus, being specifically responsible forthe functioning of the High School and Vocational Programming. Through acollaborative relationship with all members of the Education team, thisposition will assist in maintaining a balanced alliance between the EducationDepartment and other departments within the agency, as well as the Clearpoolcampus and organization stakeholders.
The pay rate for this role is $84, 500 -94,500 per year depending oncertification and education.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise staff in allHS Classrooms and buildings (12 classrooms); responsible for all HR andpersonnel related activities associated with recruiting, hiring andretaining adequate staffing
• Coordinate electives andCTE courses with program teachers
• Primary Parent contactof high school after classroom staff
• Curriculum coordinatorfor 9-12th grade
• Oversee Assessments,including Regents
• Ensure students havecourses, credits and meet requirements for graduation
• Coordinate with placingCSEs
• As part of the schoolleadership team, work with other school leadership to build and maintainoverall education program
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• Master’s degree inEducation or other related human service field required
• Minimum of 5 years ofprogressively responsible school related experience required
• Minimum of 3 yearssupervisory/administrative experience required; can consider internalcandidate with multiple years’ of agency service without supervisoryexperience
• Experience working in aspecial education and/or 853 school
• Knowledge andunderstanding of New York State Special Education practices and policiesrequired

Licensure/Certification

• New York State SchoolAdministration Certification, or the ability to obtain one within sixyears
