Smurfit Westrock in Plainfield, NJ is seeking an entry-level helper to support the Hot Stamp Press Operator. You will assist with setup, select materials, manage change-overs, and keep the stamper and work area clean and safe during production runs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic reading ability, color vision, and mechanical aptitude. Shift is 1st; overtime may be required, with benefits including health/dental/vision and vacation time.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Able to read and write instructions and correspondence.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Pass a basic reading test and color vision test.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude through prior work or a test.

Responsibilities

• Review job tickets and select proper material type and quantity.
• Assist in material change-overs and ensure correct material is ready for production.
• Load/unload stock and stage materials for next job on the hot stamper.
• Clean and maintain hot stamper equipment and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Follow standard operating procedures and complete required documentation.
• Assist operator with checks and troubleshooting during runs.
• Support production by removing waste and ensuring safety rules are followed.
