Water Lily Learning Center - Avondale is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our full-time team. You will work with the Lead Preschool Teacher to foster a warm, structured learning environment for ages 3–5 at our Avondale campus.

The role emphasizes dependability, warmth, and curiosity about early childhood education, with dedicated time for professional development and family engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework preferred.
• Prior licensed preschool or early education experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of preschool development and positive strategies for working with young children.
• Dependable, team-oriented with consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Preschool Teacher with Creative Curriculum lessons at Avondale.
• Support literacy, math, science, social studies, and arts activities for preschoolers.
• Help with transitions, outdoor play, meals, and daily rest times.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom following Ohio DCY and Gold standards.
• Document children's learning and daily routines as directed by Lead Teacher.
• Build positive relationships with Avondale preschoolers and their families.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior throughout the day.
• Follow Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality Gold policies and safety procedures.

Position Summary

The Assistant Preschool Teacher - Avondale works alongside our Lead Preschool Teacher to create a warm, structured, and engaging learning environment for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 at our Avondale campus. This role is built for someone who brings dependability, warmth, and genuine curiosity about early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher in implementing Creative Curriculum lesson plans and learning activities at Avondale
• Support instruction across literacy, math, science, social studies, and creative arts for Avondale preschoolers
• Help facilitate smooth transitions, outdoor play, mealtimes, and daily rest
• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally rich classroom following Ohio DCY and Gold standards
• Assist with documentation of children's learning and daily routines as directed by Lead Teacher
• Build positive, consistent relationships with Avondale preschoolers and their families
• Model and reinforce positive behavior expectations throughout the classroom day
• Follow all Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality Gold policies and safety procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework, CDA, or Associate degree preferred
• Prior experience in a licensed preschool, childcare, or early education setting preferred
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
• Knowledge of preschool child development and positive strategies for working with young children
• Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to consistent attendance
• Ability to engage actively in a classroom setting throughout the full shift including floor-level interaction
• Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances

Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
• $14-$17/hr based on experience and qualifications
