Assistant Preschool Teacher – Perry Center

2025-2026 School Year

Schedule: 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday

Rate of Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour (based on education)

Reports To: Early Childhood Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily program implementation under the direction of the Lead Preschool Teacher
• Assist in preparing the daily learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed supplies and materials
• Interact with students in a ‘learning through play’ environment
• Provide a structured, enjoyable environment where students are engaged in creative exploration, art, math & science manipulatives as well as other hands-on activities
• Establish positive liaison with parents
• Assist with general housekeeping tasks
• Supervise the lunch & nap periods
• Follow all licensing regulations as determined by the State of Michigan, including annual professional development hours

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 18 years of age
• Some Early Childhood credits and/or CDA preferred
• Experience working with young children
