River Road Early Learning Center in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Pre‑K Teacher to join our caring team. You will support the Lead Teacher in daily activities and build strong relationships with children and families.

Formación

• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
• CDA, associate's degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
• Support children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
• Foster a warm, nurturing classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
• Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and daily routines.
• Encourage positive behavior through consistent guidance and encouragement.
• Support early literacy, math, science, art, music, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Observe children and share developmental observations with the Lead Teacher.
• Build positive relationships with families through daily communication.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to support student success.
• Follow all Virginia licensing regulations and River Road Early Learning Center policies.

About the Position

River Road Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Assistant Pre‑K Teacher to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, believes in the importance of early childhood education, and is passionate about helping children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside our Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that prepares children for kindergarten success. Position Overview

The Assistant Pre‑K Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and building positive relationships with children and families. The ideal candidate is dependable, collaborative, patient, and enthusiastic about working as part of a professional teaching team.
