Job summary

Knife River is seeking a transportation and material-moving helper to assist with loading/unloading, coordinating resources, and ensuring safe operations. The role supports experienced workers and communicates with customers and supervisors to resolve issues.

The position schedules are Monday–Friday early mornings with occasional Saturdays during peak seasons. Overtime and weather-related adjustments may occur. Must comply with safety and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Able to work independently and under time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Assist workers in tasks such as loading and unloading vehicles by hand or by operating heavy equipment and/or hand tools.
• Compute or estimate transportation, personnel, or storage requirements.
• Confer with customers, supervisors, contractors, or other personnel to exchange information or to resolve problems.
• Direct workers in transportation or related services, such as moving, storing, or loading or unloading of materials.
• Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers in a safe and efficient manner.
