This position assists in coordinating activities of transportation and material-moving machine and plant helpers.

Schedule: During Production: M-F 5am-4pm; Saturdays as needed. During Maintenance: M-F 6am-2pm. Starting pay is $24.10/hour, depending on experience.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, or
  • One to three months related experience or training, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist workers with loading/unloading vehicles, operating heavy equipment, and hand tools.
  • Estimate transportation, personnel, or storage needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and contractors to exchange information and resolve issues.
  • Guide workers in transportation-related tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Operate vehicles and machinery to complete work while complying with policies and safety regulations.
  • Enforce safety rules and conduct safety inspections.
  • Measure and weigh cargo to determine handling requirements.
  • Train new workers and demonstrate safe work procedures.
  • Inspect materials, vehicles, and equipment for safety and compliance.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan work assignments and allocate equipment to meet operational needs.
  • Prepare reports on activities, operations, and safety incidents using computer software.
  • Suggest improvements for safety, performance, and customer service.
  • Assist in personnel management, including hiring and evaluations.
  • Requisition supplies, equipment, and parts as needed.
  • Review schedules and orders to determine work sequences and shipping details.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
