The Assistant Plant Manager is a leadership role supporting the operations of an advanced 3PL service for a technology client.

About the Role

How you will contribute

• Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded within company guidelines.
• Present quarterly updates to customer senior management regarding our scorecard and initiatives.
• Participate in customer meetings, e.g., 9:30 am support for strategic objectives.
• Communicate initiatives supporting continuous improvement to the customer.

Meet company objectives regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment.

• Present quarterly reports to syncreon senior management on plant objectives and initiatives.
• Establish a 5-year/business contract plan, annual budgets, and meet targets.
• Implement local initiatives to ensure plant progression.

Adopt continuous improvement practices within the workplace.

• Plan and execute lean manufacturing concepts.
• Ensure productivity tasks are planned and executed annually and ongoing.
• Prioritize waste elimination across operations.

Organizational Strengthening

• Build a stronger salaried team capable of leading the hourly workforce into future demands.
• Enhance employee relations and morale through participation and behavioral discipline.
• Improve communication at all organizational levels.

Work with Trade Unions (if applicable)

• Identify and eliminate practices impacting the plant's financial health.
• Collaborate with union personnel to improve operations while minimizing workforce impact.
• Engage union representatives as part of the business to achieve objectives.

New Business

• Collaborate with business development and account management to identify opportunities within the plant's capabilities.
• Participate in activities that promote future profitability.
• Maintain a plant environment attractive to outsiders and potential customers.

• Engage with local industry groups to learn and adapt best practices.

Quality and Environmental Management Systems

• Support ISO 14001 compliance and ensure direct reports adhere to these standards.
• Participate in ISO TS 16949 and ISO 14001 management reviews.

Your Key Qualifications

• A college or university degree related to manufacturing is preferred and/or an MBA.
• Experience managing at various levels, preferably in manufacturing.
• Background in automotive manufacturing or logistics is preferred.
• Experience in Tier 1 operations is beneficial.
• Skills in production, materials, and quality control are advantageous.
