Job Description - Assistant Plant Manager (2500017L)

What You’ll Do:

  1. Promote Safety: Prioritize safety for yourself and others to ensure all plants have zero accidents and comply with all policies and procedures.
  2. Organize and Plan Production: Schedule daily plant operations to optimize utilization of equipment, personnel, and inventory, covering all aspects from stripping to shipping.
  3. Manage Employee Relations: Provide leadership, training, team building, and supervision. Work with HR on recruitment, performance evaluation, and talent development.
  4. Monitor Processes and Materials: Analyze production and quality control to ensure product quality and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  5. Ensure Economic Profit: Manage financial decisions including budgets, forecasts, inventory, and labor and capital planning. Identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement activities.
  6. Maintain Compliance: Build a safety culture and ensure compliance with safety, operational, and environmental policies. Manage health and safety of employees.

Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Experience: Supervising production employees, preferably at an aggregate, sand/gravel, or asphalt plant.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership, motivation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Operational Knowledge: Understanding of mining, concrete, asphalt operations, MSHA regulations, engineering principles, and quality control.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate, build teams, and communicate effectively.
  • Financial Knowledge: Experience in managing financial performance to targets.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
