Overview

Operates Batch Plant to provide a quality concrete product for delivery to customers by performing the following duties. Performs plant manager duties when plant manager is absent.

Responsibilities
  • Proper plant maintenance
  • General upkeep of building and grounds around plant
  • Operation of equipment (loaders, skid-steer, etc.)
  • Office paperwork and reporting
  • Must have good communication and organization skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must have the ability to project a professional attitude when dealing with internal and external customers either by phone or in person
  • Performs plant manager duties when plant manager is absent
Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge of computer batching systems and components of a batch plant either by formal education or previous experience. Basic knowledge of equipment operation.
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
