Northside Auto in Greer, SC is hiring an Assistant Parts & Recon Manager to keep our vehicle reconditioning operations efficient. The role focuses on ordering the right parts, verifying numbers and pricing, and ensuring timely availability for technicians.

Beyond parts, you will assist the Recon Manager and coordinate with vendors, dealers, and customers, wearing multiple hats in a growing, family-owned shop.

Northside Auto is looking for a dependable, organized, and proactive Assistant Parts & Recon Manager to help keep our vehicle reconditioning operation running efficiently.

This is not just a parts-counter position.

Your primary responsibility will be making sure the right parts are ordered correctly, received, organized, returned when necessary, and ready when our technicians need them. But you will also serve as the right hand to our Recon Manager and help wherever needed to keep vehicles moving through the reconditioning process.

We are a growing, family-owned independent dealership, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable wearing more than one hat and solving problems without needing to be told every step.

What You'll Do

Parts Ordering & Management

• Accurately identify and order automotive parts
• Verify correct part numbers, pricing, availability, and vendor information before placing orders
• Ask technicians the right questions when additional information is needed to identify the correct part
• Avoid guessing or "close enough" ordering
• Track parts from order through delivery
• Verify that parts arrive correctly and in usable condition
• Handle incorrect, damaged, or unneeded parts and ensure they are returned for proper credit
• Track core charges and make sure cores are returned promptly after repairs are completed
• Follow up with vendors when credits, refunds, or replacement parts are outstanding

Parts Organization

• Receive and organize incoming parts
• Clearly label parts by vehicle and repair order
• Keep parts for each repair together in our designated parts area
• Follow Northside Auto's parts organization process
• Make sure technicians receive parts once everything needed for the repair has arrived
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and accountable parts room

Recon & Service Support

This position extends beyond ordering parts. You will assist the Recon Manager with whatever is necessary to keep vehicles moving.

That may include

• Coordinating outside repairs and sublet vendors
• Scheduling vehicles with dealerships or outside repair facilities
• Dropping off or picking up vehicles from vendors
• Helping organize jobs and vehicles within the recon process
• Picking up vehicles from auctions or other locations when needed
• Assisting with vehicle movement and other service department needs
• Stepping in to help solve day-to-day problems as they arise

Customer & Vendor Communication

You will regularly communicate with:

• Parts stores
• Franchise dealership parts departments
• Repair vendors
• Technicians
• Customers
• Other members of the Northside Auto team

You should be comfortable speaking professionally with customers and vendors both in person and over the phone.

If a customer arrives while the Recon Manager is unavailable, we expect you to be comfortable greeting them, understanding what they need, and helping get the situation moving in the right direction.

Someone who likes being useful, solving problems, staying busy, and becoming an important part of a growing operation probably will.

Automotive Experience

Previous automotive parts, service, dealership, repair shop, or reconditioning experience is strongly preferred.

Experience working for an automotive parts retailer, dealership parts department, independent repair facility, body shop, or dealership recon department could translate very well into this position.

You do not necessarily need to know every part by memory, but you must know how to find the correct answer rather than guessing.

Compensation

$20-$24 per hour, depending on automotive experience and demonstrated ability.
