York County Government is seeking a full-time Assistant Park Ranger to help keep parks safe, clean, and well maintained for campers, boaters, and day visitors. The role includes flexible 40-hour weeks, some holidays, weekends, and evening shifts according to operations.

Training and certification requirements apply, including CPR/First Aid and a valid driver's license. Salary ranges per hour, based on qualifications, with a focus on safety, public service, and fiscal stewardship within York

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CPR certification, First Aid Certification, BBP certification, AED Certification required.

Mansioni

• Constant monitoring of Park Property for safety hazards.
• Drive between County parks including Allison Creek and Ebenezer; may drive a county truck to collect trash.
• Respond to issues with electrical or water systems and perform repairs as needed.
• Remove trash and debris from parks using appropriate equipment.
• Provide information to visitors on topics such as fish, wildlife, boating, and local history/geography.
• Enforce Park rules and regulations (e.g., length of stay, alcohol, dog leash).
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering calls, registering campers, assisting with reservations, and collecting fees.
• Assist with traffic control during peak seasons.
• Perform janitorial duties in public restrooms.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
