Klondike Cheese Co. is seeking a 1st shift Assistant Packaging Supervisor in Monroe, WI to support daily packaging operations and ensure safe, efficient production with a focus on quality.

The role involves coordinating with the packaging team, setting up equipment, and maintaining paperwork and records. The ideal candidate has prior supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong Excel/Outlook skills, and the ability to coach staff.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of department operations or prior supervisor/lead experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
• Effective verbal and written communication; able to facilitate discussions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operational activities of the packaging department to support the team.
• Coordinate and advise on daily work for completion.
• Oversee setup and operation of equipment for efficient operation.
• Maintain daily communication with packaging team, management and other supervisors.
• Ensure timely completion of production paperwork and records.
• Monitor adherence to GMP, safety, sanitation, HACCP and BRC programs.
• Coach employees and participate in performance reviews.
• Assist with cross-training to ensure coverage across shifts.
• Follow programs to produce safe, quality foods.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

We are currently seeking a 1st shift assistant supervisor to fill a new opening!

The Assistant Packaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the daily operational activities of the assigned department, including coordinating and supervising the activities or production employees to ensure the efficient packaging of company products. The Assistant Packaging Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring all tasks performed by the production team are performed safely, efficiently and with a focus on quality to maintain and improve department performance.

Eligible for $1,000 sign on bonus!

Shift: Feta:1st shift -5:00am until done, Monday through Friday and every other Saturday 5:00am-done

Job Duties:

• Assists in the daily operational activities of the packaging department, working as needed to support the packaging team.
• Coordinates, assists with, and advises department employees of daily work to be completed.
• Assists with and oversees the daily set up and operation of equipment for efficient and effective operation.
• Engages in daily communication with packaging team, management, other departmental supervisors, and all employees necessary in the operations process.
• Ensures the timely and correct completion of all production and other required paperwork or documentation.
• Will monitor the performance of department employees to insure they follow established standards and procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, sanitation, HACCP, etc., and supports and participates in the plant’s BRC program.
• Coaches and counsels employees as needed after consulting with Management and/or Human Resources.
• Assists supervisor with 30-day, 90-day, and annual performance reviews or appraisals as needed.
• Assists with cross-training of employees to ensure adequate coverage on all job tasks for all days of the week, in a way that will promote safety, quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Will follow all established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
• Other related additional duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures or previous experience as a supervisor/lead in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, including proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Capable of facilitating discussion with clear and articulate speech.
• Effectively work autonomously with minimal management direction.
• Understanding of HACCP and current food safety/quality legislation.
• Knowledge of food ingredients and packaging manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions, and Basic math and computer skills required.
• Good audit technique and follow up.
• Ability to write brief reports and log documentation.
• Ability to multitask and follow-up on employees on assigned tasks.
