Job summary

Port Townsend Paper Corporation seeks an Assistant Power & Recovery Superintendent to support the Power and Recovery Department under the Power & Recovery Manager. Responsibilities include maintenance coordination, process optimization, scheduling, and safety and environmental compliance for critical boiler and recovery systems.

The role requires knowledge of steam/electrical generation, chemical recovery, and wastewater treatment, with a preference for a degree in pulp and paper science or

• Operating experience considered.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and 4 site is desired.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance activities for Power & Recovery equipment.
• Assist with process optimization and scheduling.
• Support training and discipline of employees within the department.
• Maintain budgets, action plans and goals for mill demands.
• Ensure environmental compliance and safety in Power & Recovery operations.
• Support power contracts negotiations and troubleshooting production issues.

Job Title: Assistant Power & Recovery SuperintendentReports to: Power & Recovery ManagerThe PositionAssists with Managing the needs of the Power and Recovery Department under the direction of the Power & Recovery Manager, including the quality of operation, safety, environmental compliance & maintenance of equipment in the Power and Recovery area.About Port Townsend Paper Corporation (PTPC)The Port Townsend Paper (“PTPC”) mill is proud to have been in continuous operation for more than 90 years. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.Work Schedule, and EnvironmentThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with overtime as needed.This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.
