The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, aCAA-accredited program in Speech-Language Pathology at theUniversity of Houston, invites applications for a nine-month,tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor rank positionbeginning Fall 2027.

Qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in Communication Sciencesand Disorders or related field, potential for a strong record ofresearch and scholarship, teaching experience, and a desire tocontribute to a growing, innovative program. CCCs are stronglypreferred. Areas of need include: dysphagia, speech sounddisorders, audiology and aural rehabilitation, speech science,multilingualism, and social communication, though all strongapplicants will be considered.

Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduatecourses in the candidate’s area of expertise, directing studentresearch, participating in service at the department, university,and professional levels, and consulting with clinical educators asneeded.

Salary and rank commensurate with experience.

Our on-campus clinic provides services to a broaddemographic cross-section of the greater Houston area across a widerange of ages, disorders, and etiologies.

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
