Job summary

Albemarle is hiring an Assistant Operator on site at the Silver Peak Lithium Mine in Nevada. This entry‑level role supports the Plant Operator with sampling, daily operations of transfer pumps, and maintaining housekeeping.

You will fill in for the Plant Operator as needed and coordinate safety with the team. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to work at heights and wear a respirator.

Qualifications

• Meet physical demands as per the Physical Demands checklist.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support Plant Operator in collection of samples.
• Support daily operation of transfer pumps.
• Maintain housekeeping within the plant.
• Fill in for the Plant Operator as needed.
• Communicate daily activities to the Plant Operator.
• Maintain daily and weekly work lists.
• Assist supervisor to achieve department goals.
• Assist other departments as needed to achieve company goals.
• Work safely and maintain department safety goals.
• Participate on the Emergency Response Team.
• Climb ladders up to 40 feet and work at heights.
• Carry boxes, lift items under 50 pounds.

What You Will Do

• Support Plant Operator in the collection of samples.
• Support Plant Operator in the daily operation of transfer pumps.
• Support Plant Operator in the collection of monthly information.
• Maintain housekeeping within the plant.
• Fill in for the Plant Operator as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and information to the Plant Operator.
• Maintain daily and weekly work list tasks.
• Assist supervisor with other duties that he/she needs to accomplish department goals.
• Assist other departments as needed to accomplish company goals.
• Work safely, efficiently, cleanly, and self‑consciously to keep department safety goals.
• Participate on the Emergency Response Team.
• Climb ladders up to 40 feet tall and work at heights.
• Carry boxes, lift items, and generally maneuver objects less than 50 pounds.

What You Bring

Required:

• Employee must demonstrate the ability to safely follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Employee must demonstrate the basic understanding of computer operation.
• Employee must meet physical demands requirements as explained on the Physical Demands checklist.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be willing to work at heights.
• Must be able to wear respirator.

Preferred:

• Industrial operations experience.
• Military operations experience.
• OSHA/MSHA Certified
