Summary

The Assistant Operations Manager in the M&R Department will ensure a safe and efficient environment for the Terminal Maintenance & Repair Program.

Essential Duties

• Develop and execute plans to improve customer service, productivity, safety, and quality.
• Communicate with line representatives about equipment status and repair costs.
• Maintain equipment statistics.
• Coordinate daily labor for M&R and Reefer Operations.
• Keep management informed through reports and regular communication.
• Ensure good communication between Maintenance and Terminal Operations to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders and reports accurately and timely.
• Manage parts inventory for repairs.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental standards are met.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED with 3+ years of supervisory experience or a 4-year college degree in Marine Operations, Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and Port Access Cards.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supervising ILA Longshore Labor or in a supervisory role.
• Sense of urgency and self-starter mentality.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
