With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee‑owners.

This opportunity entails being responsible for assisting in performing contract administration and supporting field engineering functions in order to monitor individual contractor's compliance with specifications, plans and other contract provisions at New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC) infrastructure projects. This role includes the ability to create field cards and As‑built records.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager in the administration of the construction contract. Provide interpretation of contract plans and specifications and review contractor’s shop drawings and submittals for contract compliance.
  • Maintain as‑built record drawings, project files, and record database including specifications, test results, and reports.
  • Keep inspector’s daily report of assigned work activities. Perform reviews for approval of contractor’s monthly schedule submittals and pay estimates.
  • Coordinate testing and monitor services as well as quality control inspections.
  • Log, track, and process requests for information, submittals, change orders, and other project deliverables.
  • Prepare project progress reports, agendas, and minutes for meetings, conduct pre‑construction meetings, and assist in preparing final project close‑out documents.
  • Assist in the review, assembly, and processing of monthly progress payments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
What You’ll Bring
  • Identify some discrepancies or conflicts within documents and gain familiarity with the quality of work performed using inspection checklists.
  • Write daily inspection reports, track work performed, and compute pay item quantities at a basic level with direction from more experienced staff.
  • Understand shop drawing review and gain the ability to read and interpret the contractor’s CPM schedule at a basic level.
What We Prefer
  • Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Trained in digital construction management software such as Constructware, Asite or similar.
  • OSHA 10‑Hour Construction Safety Certification, or the ability to obtain it.
